Schofill Captures NXXT Epson Qualifier Title at Alaqua

Lopez fires tournament-low 64, birdies 18th to secure Epson Tour exemption

Longwood, Florida — Megan Schofill returned to the winner’s circle in commanding fashion this week, capturing the NXXT Epson Qualifier at Alaqua Country Club with a composed and decisive performance over 54 holes.

The championship featured a full field of 67 players representing 17 countries, underscoring the international depth and rising competitive standard of the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour.

Schofill finished at 12-under par (67-69-65 = 201), closing with a clinical 6-under 65 to separate herself down the stretch. The U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion — and winner in her professional debut on the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour last winter — once again demonstrated poise under pressure, leading the field with 17 total birdies for the week.

Her victory, however, was far from uncontested.

Slovenia’s Olympic representative Ana Belac mounted a determined final-round charge, firing a polished 5-under 66 to finish runner-up at 10-under 203. Belac’s precision iron play and steady back-nine execution kept the margin tight into Wednesday afternoon, forcing Schofill to execute with precision to secure the title.

In a field featuring LPGA members, Epson Tour professionals, international standouts, and rising amateurs, Schofill delivered a championship-caliber performance from start to finish.

Lopez Times Her Charge to Perfection

While Schofill controlled the tournament, the final round’s most dramatic moment belonged to Marta Lopez. Lopez authored the low round of the championship — a brilliant 7-under 64 — highlighted by seven birdies and punctuated by a clutch birdie on the 18th hole.

With the Epson Tour exemption on the line, Lopez delivered when the stakes were highest. Her closing surge vaulted her into solo third at 7-under 206, securing the coveted exemption and reinforcing the competitive intensity that defines the NXXT Epson Qualifier.

Opportunity earned. Pathway realized.

Wagner’s Ace Ignites the Field

Wednesday’s final round also produced one of the championship’s most electric highlights. Samantha Wagner recorded a hole-in-one from 160 yards on the 11th hole, igniting momentum during a strong closing round of 3-under 68.

For the week, Wagner tied Schofill for the most total par breakers in the field with 16 birdies and one eagle (17 total) — an aggressive scoring display that underscored the depth of attacking talent across the leaderboard.

Top Amateur Performance

The championship also showcased impressive amateur representation, with Isabella Fernandez (a) earning low amateur honors. Competing against seasoned professionals in a 54-hole championship setting, Fernandez gained valuable WAGR ranking points while demonstrating the competitive readiness of the next generation.

The opportunity for amateurs to test their games alongside LPGA and Epson Tour players remains a defining element of the NXXT platform.
