NXXT Faldo Junior Tour championship recap at IMG Academy Golf Club, Bradenton

Players flew in from Ireland, Lithuania, the Dominican Republic and Australia to compete at NXXT. Wind and rain interrupted the weekend; the field completed its 54-hole championship on schedule Monday, producing four champions and six Streamsong invitations.

BRADENTON, FL — OCTOBER 12, 2026

A field worth the flight

Several players traveled internationally for the IMG championship. John Moran flew in from Ireland and left with the Boys 16–19 title. Eilgin Michael also came from Ireland, with four NXXT Faldo events on his schedule this month. George Morales Aybar flew in from the Dominican Republic this week, and Dominykas Petkevicius traveled from Lithuania specifically for this highly contested tournament. Tony Cho, born in South Korea and based in Australia for the past four years, is in Florida for this month’s events.

Played Saturday through Monday, October 10–12, the championship brought together 79 players representing 26 countries at IMG Academy Golf Club. WAGR Ranking opportunities and a defined route to the NXXT Faldo North American Championship at Streamsong gave players another reason to make the trip.

A test in wind and rain

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin Friday night, October 9. Its outer bands reached Bradenton as play began the next day, bringing wind and rain. Weather interruptions halted play twice over the weekend, but the field completed all 54 holes on schedule.

By Monday, conditions had eased. Takada protected her lead, Mysliwiec completed a wire-to-wire win, and Parkinson stayed near the top. Moran rallied to force the Boys 16–19 playoff. Each finish demanded composure as conditions shifted.

Four champions who held their nerve

Boys 16–19 — John Moran, Ireland. Six shots behind with 18 holes to play, Moran closed with a two-under-par 70 to finish at 221 and join Tony Cho and Lennard Nuetzl in a three-player playoff. He won on the extra holes for his first NXXT Faldo title.

Girls 16–19 — Yuuki Takada, Japan. Takada led wire to wire. Her second-round 70 expanded a three-shot lead to eight, and she finished at 217, ahead of Gayatri Arora of Charlotte and Angela Vidova of Bratislava.

Girls 12–15 — Sophia Mysliwiec, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Mysliwiec led wire to wire, closing with rounds of 73, 70 and 71 for a 214 total and a ten-shot victory. Ririco Hallberg of Kobe finished second; Ryley Regan of Granby was third.

Boys 12–15 — Rex Parkinson, Denver, Colorado. After opening with a 71, Parkinson shared the halfway lead with Declan Jacobson. He closed at 219 on Monday to win by three; Jacobson and Samuel Metz tied for second.

The road to Streamsong

Each of IMG’s four division champions earned an invitation to the North American Championship. The Boys 16–19 playoff added two more: Moran, Tony Cho and Lennard Nuetzl were tied after 54 holes, so NXXT extended invitations to all three. In total, six players from IMG will compete at Streamsong Resort, December 29–31.

The Boys and Girls 16–19 divisions at IMG were WAGR-rated, and the event carried Junior Golf Scoreboard recognition. Each division winner also earned 500 GOLFJOY Player of the Year points. At Streamsong, the four division champions will have the opportunity to advance to the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in Vietnam in April 2027.

The Florida fall schedule continues at Bobby Jones Golf Club, October 17–18; Santa Lucia River Club, October 24–26; and Lake Jovita, November 21–22. The NXXT Faldo IMG Academy Florida Challenge follows December 11–13, then the North American Championship at Streamsong. Practice rounds are December 27–28, with competition December 29–31.

NXXT Golf thanks IMG Academy Golf Club, the tournament team, its partners, and every player, family, coach and academy that made the journey to Bradenton.
